Any information on this site that deals with medical information, and in particular information on prevention and treatment are peer-reviewed by the Advisory Board to ensure that it is scientifically sound.
The truth, accuracy and quality of information published on this site is of utmost importance. Too often, scientific findings are taken out of context, data is misinterpreted resulting in the announcement of false medical breakthroughs, or unsubstantiated recommendations regarding the latest in AMD treatments and prevention. These become sources of hopes and expectations that are all too often shattered.
The role of the Scientific Advisory Panel is to ensure that AMD Alliance International provides up-to-date and quality-assured background information, brochures, alerts, and position statements on AMD and vision loss.
