AMD Alliance International (AMDAI) is the only international organization in the world dedicated exclusively to promoting awareness, treatment and research into age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the leading cause of vision loss in the developed world. We are an international membership organization comprised of the worlds' leading vision, seniors and research organizations from 23 countries.
Our strategic aim is to bring knowledge, help and hope to individuals and families around the world affected by age related macular disease.
We support in-country patient advocacy members to co-operate on an international basis and we raise money and support for internationally coordinated projects. Our global headquarters are based in Toronto, with staff based in Baltimore, USA and Tokyo, Japan. Though a small organization with a budget of less than $1.5 million USD and worldwide staff of 6, we wield enormous influence via a network of eminent advisors and substantial in country member organizations.
