Ensuring that the patient perspective is top of mind with clinicians and researchers is a key objective of the AMD Alliance International. Recently, AMDAI took part in the Ageing Eye Conference in Bonn, Germany providing a key speaker during the meeting and exchanging ideas with world leaders in vision and ophthalmology. During the meeting prominent experts in macular degeneration and other eye diseases discussed research, available treatments, rehabilitation options, and the socioeconomic impact of vision loss.
By attending these meetings and participating on the program, AMD Alliance is making sure that the needs of patients, including quality of life supports, are being adequately addressed when research projects are being considered and public policy is being set.
